Our commitment
Hamilton Same Day Garage Door is committed to providing goods, services and information in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities. We aim to give everyone the same opportunity to access our services.
We follow the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation, and we build this website to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
What we have done on this website
- All text and background colour pairs have been measured against the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast thresholds โ 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text โ rather than assumed to pass.
- Every page uses semantic HTML landmarks and a single, correctly ordered heading hierarchy, so screen reader users can navigate by heading and region.
- A skip-to-content link is the first focusable element on every page.
- All functionality is reachable with a keyboard alone, and focus is always visible.
- Interactive targets are at least 48 by 48 pixels, and the site does not scroll horizontally down to a 320-pixel-wide viewport.
- Form fields have visible, correctly associated labels; errors are described in text rather than by colour alone and are announced to assistive technology.
- Meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Animation and smooth scrolling are disabled automatically for visitors whose system requests reduced motion.
- The FAQ accordions use native HTML disclosure elements, so the answers are available to assistive technology and present in the page source whether or not JavaScript runs.
Known limitations
Two areas of this site are provided by third parties and we do not control their code: the Google Maps embed on our contact page, and the Trustindex widget that displays our Google reviews. We have placed both behind clearly labelled, keyboard-accessible alternatives โ a plain-text address with a directions link, and a link to our Google Business Profile โ so that no information is only available inside a third-party embed.
If you find any other barrier on this site, we want to hear about it. We treat accessibility problems as defects and fix them.
Accessible formats and communication support
On request, we will provide information about our services in an accessible format or with communication support, at no additional cost. We will consult with you about which format works for you. Call (365) 675-0337 between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM any day of the week to make a request.
Service on our premises and at your property
People with disabilities are welcome to be accompanied by a service animal or a support person when dealing with us. If our technician needs to communicate with you about a repair, they will do so in whatever way works best for you.
Feedback
We welcome feedback on how we provide accessible service, and on the accessibility of this website. Call (365) 675-0337, write to us at 1051 Upper James St, Office 300D, Hamilton, ON L9C 3A6, Canada, or use our contact form. We respond to accessibility feedback in the same way we respond to a service call โ promptly, and with a person rather than a form letter.
